Cachupín

"Cachupín" - 6"x6" Oils on Linen Canvas Board

"Cachupín" is Chilean Spanish for a stray dog, and this little fellow was sleeping in the La Vega Central market in Santiago.

For some time now I have been working on another large canvas inspired by a scene in Colombia, under the working title of, "Ninos Mirando a un Matanza" (or "Children watching a Slaughter"), but life recently has been quite hectic, and things haven't been going well. This small canvas of the dog is just a small present for my partner, until I can get back to the main project - which isn't as gruesome at it may sound!
