Broken Wasp

I painted a series of three pictures of a dead wasp a few years ago. I decided to go back and have another go, and may again in the future.

The problem is that, despite gluing the model to a bit of card, they do tend to get dropped and break. I had to abandon one canvas last Christmas, when the wasp I was using got squashed. This was the second attempt, with a another specimen kindly sent by my mother (I don't often get wasps in my London flat). Still dropped it though; you can see a fragment of a broken leg in the bottom right hand corner.

Asking price (with frame): £225

Santa Maria del Sur Show

I have eight paintings hanging up in Santa Maria del Sur, an Argentinian grill just south of Battersea Park, until the end of June.

The food, if not the artwork, spectacular.

Maybe next year...

I can now say that I have had paintings in the Royal Academy. Ok, they were on the rejection pile, but they were in the building!
